How I'm Staying Organised

Organisation is often a choice. Some people decide that they will live their lives with precision, whilst others throw all ideas of planning out of the window and see where it takes them. I'd like to think that I'm somewhere in the middle of these two entities. I like to plan where necessary, but sometimes I let everything go and see where each day takes me.

However, now I'm juggling university, a job, blogging, extra-curriculars and socialising with friends, organising is a pretty important part of my life at the moment.

I love to see how other people choose to keep their lives in order, and thought I'd give you some insight into how I keep on top of everything.

Bullet Journaling. I've always used bullet journaling as a method of staying on top of everything. You can see what sort of layouts I use in this post, or view my inspiration board on Pinterest.

Phone Calendar. I always sync my university timetable with my phone calendar. This way I can keep on top of events and always have them on hand, if I need to find out what I have on a particular day.

Wall Planner. I always swore by wall calendars, as they were easy to write on and displayed what I was doing for the upcoming month. However, since getting a free wall planner from fresher's fair I haven't looked back! I find it really helpful to know exactly what is going on for the next year, not just the next month, and it helps me feel on top of everything.

One Step Ahead. I definitely didn't practice this last term due to being overloaded with everything, but I definitely think the trick to staying organised is to keep one step ahead of everything. I think it is definitely less stressful to get the essay in ahead of the deadline and start preparing for that exam more than a week before.

Tidy Space. When my room is tidy, I just feel slightly more sane. When clothes are strewn all over the floor, my bed isn't made, and there's half read books all over my desk, I start to get a bit panicky. Tidy space, tidy mind and all that, right?

What do you do to stay organised? I'd love to hear some tips!

  1. Yesss these are so important!! It's hard for me to stay organized but I try haha. Recently I've been making sure to write everything down on my phone that I need to do and it's been helping a lot.

    1. I'm so glad you think so! Honestly, I'm the same... I think we all struggle! I write everything down as well, but mostly on paper. I swear by lists! Thank you for reading :)
