"Face Stuff" Favourites

I'm a teenager. I'm frequently stressed in school. I don't get enough sleep. I don't always eat well. What do you get if you mix all all of this together into a not-so-beautiful combination??

I'm fairly lucky; my skin is quite dry which means I don't get huge breakouts, but I still need to be careful to keep those peskies away from my face. Last year, I really just gave up, simply because I didn't really have the time on my hands to be trialling different products.

But as 2018 came around, I realised this needed to change. My skin was dry and begging for me to take off my makeup with more than a simple wet-wipe and call it a day.

So along came Christmas, and my beautiful mum gave me some products so I could start taking further care of my skin. After a month and a half of use, I think I can definitely testify to their quality, and give you lovely lot some recommendations.

Soap and Glory Vitamin C Facial Wash: This was part of a gorgeous gift set I got for Christmas. It feels so fresh to put on, and once I've dried my face afterwards it feels soft and squeaky-clean, which is what you want from a face wash really, isn't it? The scent is soapy and fresh, which adds to the general experience and it's also for all skin types, so a win-win, really!

Amie Micellar Water: I've used Amie before, and highly recommend if you have particularly sensitive skin. This is because it's made from natural extracts and all the nasty stuff: parabens, sulphates, mineral oils and petrochemicals. It's also free from animal extracts, which means it's suitable for all of you vegetarians/vegans out there: perfect! I adore the smell of this, and because it takes off your make-up and tones your skin in one beautiful concoction, it's a perfect fit for busy routines.

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm: Ahhh, this lip-balm is sent from the Heavens, I swear. It contains vitamin E, which is perfect for these Winter months. But the best bit for me is definitely the peppermint oil: it gives your lips a tingly "I've just put a flippin' good lip-balm on" sensation, and whilst that may not be for some people, it's my favourite bit about this product!

Rosy Cheeks Fresh Face Mask: I love a good freebie: I had collected five LUSH pots and walked into my local shop proudly, knowing I could now get a fresh face mask for FREE!! As usual, the people there were lovely: I told them my skin was prone to dryness and they suggested this one. Not only is it moisturising, but the calamine powder within it soothes skin and calms redness, which is lovely for the cold months.

Sleepy Lotion: I use this before bed, as the scent of lavender really encourages my body to calm down and think of sleep. It smells divine, and has a really creamy consistency; this is perfect for when you want to cosy up with a book afterwards, as the smell will be with you for the whole night. If you're a lover of lavender, purchase this, I can assure you, you will not regret it!

Burt's Bees Body Lotion: Okay; so I know I should be using facial moisturiser... but this has a very similar consistency and smells divine. There is something so soothing about the old-fashioned nature of Burt's Bees: it does what is says on the tin, and does it so well. The milk and honey within this product really help with my dry-prone skin, and the smell is so natural that I love wearing this, either in the morning or in the night.
